23 pages/ 6 poems/ 5 lino-cut prints

Dougie's first writings after a 40 year hiatus. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Wisconsin's Lake Pepin, attempting his memoirs, poetry came back hard and strong instead.

 From "last night":

"the lilacs have bloomed and fallen back asleep. / my hammock sits empty in the yard. / for once, i will turn my chair around and face the street, / wave to all that pass by, / and mumble, /delicately to myself, / about angels and dragonflies / and the short sweet smell of sunset."
